£15.99

The Oli de Pau extra virgin olive oil produced by Empordàlia, is made exclusively from olives produced by centuries old trees in Empordà. They come from two varieties which are only found in the region, the Argudell and the Corivell; and these, along with the distinctive feature of the Empordà climate: the Tramontane north wind, gives our olive oil a character that truly sets it apart.

Elevate your culinary experience with a simple yet exquisite sharing plate featuring the rich flavours of extra virgin olive oil, known as “oli de pau,” and the delicate allure of Cantabrian anchovies. This Spanish-inspired creation promises to delight your taste buds and impress your guests.

Ingredients:

  • High-quality extra virgin olive oil (oli de pau)
  • Cantabrian anchovies, preserved in olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Gather Your Ingredients: Begin by selecting the finest quality extra virgin olive oil and premium Cantabrian anchovies. Their quality is paramount to the success of this dish.
  2. Presentation: Choose a beautiful, shallow serving plate or dish that complements the elegance of your ingredients. This dish is all about simplicity and letting the flavours shine.
  3. Arrangement: Carefully arrange the Cantabrian anchovies on the serving plate. You can either lay them flat in a single layer or create an attractive pattern.
  4. Drizzle with Olive Oil: Generously drizzle the olive oil over the anchovies. Allow the oil to pool slightly around the fish. The fruity, robust flavour of oli de pau enhances the natural taste of the anchovies.
  5. Optional Garnishes: If desired, you can add a touch of freshness with a sprinkle of finely chopped fresh herbs like parsley or a squeeze of lemon juice.
  6. Serve: Your simple sharing plate is now ready to serve. Pair it with crusty bread or crackers to complement the anchovies and soak up the aromatic olive oil.

This dish embodies the essence of Spanish cuisine—high-quality ingredients, minimal preparation, and maximum flavour. The combination of oli de pau and Cantabrian anchovies delivers a delightful contrast of textures and an explosion of flavours that will leave your guests craving more. Enjoy the art of simplicity on a plate.
